In the fall of 2004, when Krissie was 11, we had to take her to Shriners for ankle surgery. Her ankles were severely pronated and she needed to have both ankles broken and then stapled together and casted up for a couple of months. We were able to stay with her 24/7 and when it was time to put on her permanent casts we could pick the color. Of course it had to be hot pink! When we got home we had to get more clothes so she would match!
